THIS IS YOUR LIFE - Richard Vernon, actor, was surprised by Eamonn Andrews at the curtain call of the farce Look No Hans! at the Strand Theatre in London.

Richard, who grew up in Reading, began acting while serving in the Far East with the Royal Navy during the Second World War. After the war, he trained at the Central School of Speech and Drama before enjoying a successful theatrical career.

Often cast in aristocratic roles, Richard appeared in many films and television programmes, notably in the films Goldfinger and Village of the Damned and in the television drama series The Man in Room 17, The Duchess of Duke Street, The Sandbagger, Nanny and the sitcom Roll Over Beethoven.
